Martha and Jack have just returned from a week long trip to Fishguard in Wales.
While in Fishguard, they visited a site called Pentre Ifan. It has a magnificent set of stones with a huge capstone. It is one of the best examples in the country of an ancient burial site. It is believed that the stones were covered with a large mound of earth which has since eroded.

They sat near to the stones, enjoying the peaceful surroundings and admiring the wonderful views.

During their vacation they visited St Davids – a small city on the coast that was the actual birthplace of St. David. St David’s mother is know as St Non and they visited the ruins of her old house. The chapel there is built in her memory and is a very sacred place.
Another unusual item in the same church yard is the famous Bleeding Yew Tree (which has red sap seeping from it). The yew trees there are very old. According to a TV program, some of the yew trees in the church yards are older than the ancient buildings themselves. The trees have a way of renewing themselves when their trunks become rotten with age. They grow a new branch which bends down towards the earth and starts the regeneration of the old tree.

They also visited a church nearby that has a 13 foot high Celtic Cross. It is a magnificent and is covered with old Celtic designs and gives off a lot of beneficial energy to those nearby.
They ended their trip by leaving Fishguard when the sun was going down since it was much nicer traveling in a cool car and they wanted to spend as much time as possible down there. When they reached Abergavenny, the moon had risen and looked spectacularly large with a deep orange color. It was the type of moon that ancient man would have worshipped at such a magnificent site. Of course their cute cat Muny was delighted to see them back home.
