Located just north of Boston, in Chelsea Massachusetts, the Chelsea Fire Pipes and Drums was created when a Chelsea Firefighter by the name of George MacFarlane decided that it was time for our department to have it's own means of providing musical solace for the funerals of brother Firefighters.

The School continues its work in teaching students in Bagpipes, Highland Dance, Scottish and Cape Breton Fiddle, Smallpipes, Highland Drums and Pipe Band work. With over 200 people going through the school each week Manchester is getting it’s fill of Scottish music.
It is the purpose of the New Hampshire School of Scottish Arts (NHSSA) to foster and expand the spirit of Scottish Performing and Cultural arts in New Hampshire. Students at the School are afforded the opportunity to take lessons to sequentially improve their skills; to explore their Scottish heritage; to participate in organized performances and competitions; and to train to become future instructors in the Scottish Arts.
Information about Ken playing the Bagpipes
Ken has been playing the bagpipes for about 2 years. He currently plays for the Chelsea Pipes and Drum band located in Chelsea, MA and The Scottish School of Arts located in Manchester, N.H. He has marched in parades, Firefighter events, and funerals. He competes several times a year in the Scottish Highland Games and has also placed in several competitions.

July 31, 2004 = Ken will be competing in Ontario,
Canada.
August 21, 2004 = Ken will be competing at the Maine Highland Games at Thomas Point Beach in Brunswick, Maine.
September 24-26, 2004 = Ken will be competing at the New Hampshire Highland Games at the Hopkington Fair Grounds in Hopkington, NH. this is wone of the biggest competitions of them all.
