The Fighting Men

This is a poem that Barbara wrote when she was only 14 years old. The poem was written about VietNam, but the poem could apply to any time that there is war.
"The Fighting Men"
You fight for freedom over there,
Doing your duty with a care.
You fight both night and every day,
I hope God helps you along the way.
Away from home for a fight,
To help us keep our freedom and rights.
This war I know will end someday,
For men like you far away.
It makes me sad to know men die,
Sometimes I weep, sometimes I cry.
You men I know are young and brave,
Our country you are trying to save.
