Ingredients:
Directions:
1 Cup of Brown Sugar
3/4 Cup of White Sugar
2 & 1/4 Cups of Flour
1 Tsp Ground Cinnamon
3/4 Cup Vegetable Cooking Oil
Pinch of Salt
1 Egg
1 Cup of Soured Milk
1 Tsp Baking Soda
1 Tsp Baking Powder
Mix the brown sugar, white sugar, flour, cinnamon, vegetable oil and salt.  Take 2/3 Cup of the mixture out to reserve for crumb topping.  To the remaining mixture add the egg, soured milk, baking soda and baking powder.  Mix together and pour the batter into a 9 x 12 inch baking cake pan.  Sprinkle the top with the reserved crumb mixture.  Bake about 45 minutes in a 350 degree oven.

You may add raisins and nuts to the batter.  You may also make a simple frosting with powdered sugar and milk and drizzle it over the coffe cake when baked and cooled.

Coffee Cake
This recipe is from Dorothy Adella Gray (Elizabeth's mother).  Elizabeth has called this recipe "Ministers' Coffee Cake" for years because her mother used to make this cake for the Wednesday morning Ministers' conference often.  Her mother made note on the recipe card that it cost 43 Cents to make the cake in 1962!  Elizabeth bakes and serves this cake for special breakfasts for her family...Christmas, Easter and Mother's Day.  Elizabeth's daughter (who is now a mother herself) also bakes this cake for her family breakfast celebrations.  You can bet that Elizabeth will tuck this recipe in her granddaughter's apron pocket also.
